Sarah LeMire is the Coordinator of First-Year Programs at the Texas A&M University Libraries, where she has collaborated to adapt information literacy-infused OER textbooks for writing courses. In addition to OER, her interests include information literacy instruction, assessment, scalability of instruction and outreach, and outreach to special populations, especially veterans.
Her capstone project focused on outreach to first-year students to raise awareness about OER textbook options. Her OER Awareness Campaign aimed to inform key stakeholders, including students, parents, librarians, faculty, and academic advisors, about OER and course marking in order to help students make informed decisions about textbooks costs when registering for classes.
