Julie Reed is the E-Learning Librarian at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is a co-lead of the college’s Open Educational Resources Working Group and is working toward widespread awareness and adoption of OER on all six of Central Piedmont’s campuses. In her previous position as Electronic Resources Librarian at Johnson C. Smith University, she participated in the HBCU OER Affordable Learning Solutions Pilot program as well as an OER faculty review program with Davidson College, Furman University, and Duke University. Results of this last project comprise a chapter of the book OER: A Field Guide for Academic Librarians called “Interinstitutional Collaborations to Forge Intracampus Connections: A Case Study from the Duke Endowment Libraries” published by Pacific University Press. She is currently completing work as a part of the inaugural cohort of the Open Textbook Network’s Certificate in OER Librarianship.
