Her current research focuses on OER use by faculty and impacts of textbook costs on students, the data management education and training needs of graduate students, and the implications of value of academic library studies.
Jen’s 2017-18 SPARC Open Educational Leadership capstone project focused on the design of two CC BY survey instruments, which will gather input from the University of Northern Colorado campus community regarding Open Educational Resources (OER). The titles of the surveys are:
- Faculty Awareness, Attitudes, and Use of Open Educational Resources (OER) at the University of Northern Colorado
- Textbook and Course Materials: Costs and Impacts on Students at the University of Northern Colorado
The results analysis will include a comparison of institutional, state and national level results.
The survey instruments are adaptable to any institutional environment.
