Emily Carlisle-Johnston is a Research and Scholarly Communication Librarian at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada. In her role, she provides education and support to students, researchers, and faculty with all things related to Open Access and Open Education. With that said, her current priorities include working in collaboration with teammates within and beyond the library to an OER grant program, as well as general awareness and capacity for OER.
Emily has been in her current role since late 2020. She obtained her MLIS from the University of Western Ontario in 2018. Prior to re-joining the school as a librarian, Emily worked on Open Education projects as a Project Lead at eCampusOntario, and as a Scholarly Communications and Research Data Management Librarian at Nipissing University/Canadore College. Her research interests include open pedagogy approaches and publisher openwashing tactics.
Emily’s capstone project will focus on developing a framework for assessing OER grant programs.
