Aishah Abdullah is an Open Education Coordinator at SPARC. In her role, she assists SPARC’s Open Education team on policy, advocacy, community organizing, and professional development initiatives.
Aishah is a May 2020 graduate from the University of Maryland where she studied public policy and developed an interest in education policy. Prior to UMD, Aishah attended Montgomery College and was president of the Student Government Association. On both campuses, she became involved in advocacy campaigns including promoting affordable textbooks.
After her junior year in college, Aishah was an intern at America’s Promise Alliance where she worked with a team on youth employment and outreach strategies to improve high school graduation rates.
Aishah is based in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Outside of work, she enjoys sewing, hiking and going to music concerts of all kinds.
