SPARC welcomes Ashley Gordon as our new Programs and Operations Manager. She will assist with member programs and communications as well as manage key operational and business functions.
Ashley has experience with nonprofits in both direct service and administration. She was program operations manager for an organization that offered mentoring and summer learning opportunities to low-income high school and college students. At another education nonprofit, Ashley managed planning for conferences and special events.
As a first-generation college student who worked her way through college, Ashley believes in SPARC’s work to address inequities in education. She said she is excited to join the team and use her organizational skills to further SPARC’s mission.
“I love innovation and figuring out how to do things more efficiently,” she said, often signing up for classes to continue learning about new tools for project management. “I’m a learner at heart. It makes me happy to be able to problem solve using technology or something else.”
Born and raised in Boston, Ashley has a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Northeastern University. She completed the Institute for Nonprofit Practice’s Community Fellows Program and earned a certificate in Community Leadership and Social Change. As an undergraduate, she majored in travel and tourism geography and minored in Educational Studies and Social Work at Salem State University.
