For many smaller institutions, Scholarly Communications work is done by just one person. Are you that person at your institution? Do you find yourself becoming overwhelmed (or even burned out) as you face the challenges being a department of one brings?
At this upcoming Community Call, the Small Colleges and Teaching-First Universities Working Group would like to facilitate a discussion of how to successfully promote open access as a department of one. We invite you to share your experiences as we discuss our successes and challenges on this (sometimes lonely) road. We will discuss topics such as:
- First steps for new ScholComm staff – where to find resources and support
- How to advocate for OA solo
- Working to pass an OA policy at your institution
- How pandemic life has changed scholarly communications work
