Meredith Cudmore-Keating is the Vice President Academic of the St Francis Xavier University Students’ Union, and is a current student studying mathematics. Her role as VP Academic includes being the primary liaison and advocate for student academic issues, sitting on multiple University Senate committees, and helping to manage the executive board of the students’ union. Meredith was the Chair of Council of her students’ union during the 2020-2021 academic year where she managed the representative council, oversaw the students’ union elections and maintained the governance documents of the organization. One of her biggest priorities as VP Academic is to increase the support and awareness for OER on StFX campus. A highlight of her term thus far has been learning about OER and how impactful they are on students’ finances, and ability to engage in their education. She has enjoyed having discussions with stakeholders on campus about how to increase the prevalence of OER.
