Ariana Santiago is the Open Educational Resources Coordinator at the University of Houston Libraries, where she leads a growing OER program. In this role, Ariana is an advocate for open education, supports instructors in the adoption and use of OER, and manages the UH Alternative Textbook Incentive Program. Previously, she was an Instruction Librarian at the University of Houston and a Residency Librarian for Undergraduate Services at the University of Iowa.
Ariana currently serves on the SPARC Open Education Advisory Group and is a graduate of the SPARC Open Education Leadership Program. She is a presenter for the ACRL Roadshow on OER & Affordability, has served as a mentor for the SPARC Open Education Leadership Program, and was an ALA Emerging Leader. Ariana earned an M.A. in Applied Learning and Instruction from the University of Central Florida, an M.A. in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida, and a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Central Florida.
