Teresa Lee is the Associate Dean, Research and Open Scholarship at York University Libraries. Her portfolio comprises collections acquisition and management, the Clara Thomas Archives and Special Collections, research, and open scholarship. From 2014 to 2024, Teresa was the Knowledge Manager at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the cancer research arm of the World Health Organization (WHO), where she headed the Publishing, Library, and Web Services unit. Her current post marks a return to Canadian academe; she previously held roles at UBC as the E-resource & Access Librarian (2011-2014), and the Liaison Librarian to the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences (2005-2011).
Teresa is a 2001 graduate of UBC’s iSchool, and was an Associate Fellow at the US National Library of Medicine in 2001-2002. She brings a well-rounded perspective that is informed by experience in health librarianship, e-resources, licensing, copyright, intergovernmental publishing, bibliometrics, and scholarly communications.
