Regina Gong is the Manager of Technical Services and Systems and Open Educational Resources (OER) Project Manager at Lansing Community College (LCC) in Michigan where she has been leading and managing LCC’s successful OER initiative since 2015. Regina is a prominent figure in the open education community and has done numerous national presentations and webinars on OER. She is a staunch advocate of openness, equity, and access through her involvement as an executive council member of the Community College Consortium for Open Educational Resources (CCCOER) where she serves as vice-president for professional development. Regina is a member of the Michigan Colleges Online (MCO) OER Steering Committee; and Program Committee for the 2018 and 2019 Open Education Conference.
Regina is also a first-year Ph.D. student in the Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE) Program at Michigan State University. Her research focuses on the effect of OER on student learning, open educational practices, and pedagogy. Her open education research is supported by the OER Research Group Fellowship (she was one of the awardees for 2017-2018) and the Global OER Graduate Network (GO_GN) from the UK Open University. She also serves on the North America Library Advisory Board for Ubiquity Press, an open access publisher of peer-reviewed academic journals and books.
