Mary Lee Kennedy is the executive director of the Association of Research Libraries. Reporting to the Board, she leads the development and implementation of ARL’s strategic direction. The Association advances scholarship by focusing on member institution priorities at the intersection of public policy, institutional policy and practice, and the changes in research, teaching, and learning. Mary Lee represents the Association externally on the National Academies Board on Research Data and Information, the Washington Higher Education Secretariat, the US National Committee on CODATA and NISO. Before joining ARL in 2018 Mary Lee held senior leadership roles in knowledge management, research libraries, and public libraries at Microsoft, Harvard and the New York Public Library.
