Catherine Steeves has been the Vice-Provost and Chief Librarian at Western University, in London, Ontario since August of 2014. Prior to her appointment at Western, for nearly a decade, Catherine served as the Associate Chief Librarian and Deputy Chief Information Officer at the University of Guelph.
She is currently the Vice-Chair/Chair Elect of the Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL) Executive Committee and is on the Boards of Directors for the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) and Canadian Science Publishing. She is a Member Director for the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL), and is past-Chair of the CARL Advancing Research Committee and the ARL Membership Engagement and Outreach Committee.
In addition, Catherine was a founding editorial board member of the journal Partnership: The Canadian Journal of Library Information Practice and Research. She earned her M.L.I.S. from the University of Western Ontario (now Western University) and a B.A. from McGill University.
Catherine is honoured to be appointed to the SPARC Steering Committee as the CARL representative.
