Justin Kani serves as an OER liaison to IUPUI. In this role, he helps facilitate the conversation about OERs on campus through initiatives, awards, and consultations. He also serves on the Academic Libraries of Indiana (ALI) Affordable Learning committee, which is currently looking for state-wide solutions to the affordability of educational resources.
Justin’s OER capstone focuses on compiling resources that can assist in the marketing of OERs to faculty, students, and staff. “The SPARC Open Educational Leadership program helped me identify gaps in the OER community’s marketing of OER and on my campus. Thus, my project focuses on two things: 1) the goals of increasing OER inquires and adoption of OERs through marketing and; 2) documenting the marketing of OER by providing an OER resource that includes case-studies, templates, and marketing fundamentals.” Please feel free to reach out to Justin if you find additional resources that could be added to the resource.
